After careful and prayerful consultation with Catholics throughout the sixty-nine counties of our Archdiocese, I am pleased to share my vision of the Pastoral Plan to guide our Archdiocese over the next five years. The Plan is designed for you.

Yes, You are in there!

I invite you to review the recommendations for revitalizing the Church throughout the Archdiocese of Atlanta. You’ll find the 14 recommendations fall into four broad categories: Knowing Our Faith, Living Our Faith, Sharing Our Faith, and Evolution of our Parishes.

How do we get started?

After reviewing the plan, Parishes and Missions are being asked to take the following steps:

  1. Share the Pastoral Plan document widely with parishioners and the community.

  2. Assess where your Parish or Mission currently stands in relationship to the recommendations of the plan.

  3. Implement the plan!

On this site you’ll find Tools to help you consider each recommendation in-depth and generate ideas to live out the plan at your Parish or Mission.  These are not directives, but tools to help you consider a particular recommendation relative to your parish.  In addition, we recommend that you exchange ideas with your deanery and other parishes.  Share your failure and success stories so that you can continue to modify your local plan to achieve the goals of the Pastoral Plan.

The lasting fruit of this Pastoral Plan will be revealed in the way that we, as Church, fulfill the Great Commission Jesus gave His apostles and us:

“All authority in heaven and on earth has been given to me.  Therefore go and make disciples of all nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father and of the Son and of the Holy Spirit, and teaching them to observe everything I have commanded you. And surely I am with you always, to the very end of the age.”  [Matthew 28:18-20]

Come Holy Spirit! as we partner to share the Good News of Jesus Christ!
